Start-up

just received an email from an ex-company mate and i was like ~ er, stunned ~. hahahaha.

he's actually starting up some men's tee company with some 3 other friends. and it's like a corporate email he's sending out, inviting for designers to join them. submit designs for prints. and get commissioned for every tee sold. no basic pay i guess. since they just started up. still contemplating about submitting my designs. hahaha.

it's mere coincidence (i guess).

it was like only a week ago, during one of those adranaline-rushing, ideas-surging, sleepless nights that i thought of this idea of collaborating with jw and maybe invite people to submit their ideas and designs to us for printing. will be paying them of course. but did not ponder about how much. hahaha. target for printing and sales will be by january, in time for febuary's valentines'. still working about the details lar. just a spur of thought.

wait for good news then. *fingers crossed*

should go and design my company logo and name card already. yea. hahaha.

bleeding rose (t)

Remark: nowadays adding a (t) behind the title to indicate a new tshirt design or new painted tee.

got inspired when my friends mentioned my green-grey-foliage-stripe tee looked like rotting rose. rotting rose in fact. now i've came up with another design on the same old stripe tee (different colour this time) to form up a flora-foliage stripe collection.

drip.
understudy came up with the term "beautiful sorrow" to describe it. apt. hahaha.

was trying to present some soft, sentimental, emotional guy(something i'm trying hard not to be perceived as) during my own unique commercial shoots. experimented with eye-liner, with the help of my elder sis. just to dramatise the whole sadness feel. but seems like it looked more fear than sorrow. alright, i wasnt born a model kae~

anyway, enjoy the photos, along with cheesy lines which i wanted to be poetic (too bad). had a fun time though. JW promised to help me with those emotion portraits. so hopefully will experiment it again. with eye-liner plus eye shadow! hahaha.

Disclaimer: the photographs you are about to view may cause fear and initial uncomfort. to reassure you, yes that's me in those hideous photos. (:

~are you scared by now?

sleepless nights

i dont know what's causing all these sleepless nights. it's been almost a week.
it might be my biological clock being shifted till later.

this is madness. bongus.

sometimes on nights i spend away from camp, ideas just flood in. and i literally mean surge FLOOD type.
ideas for new designs,
ideas for improvements on old designs,
ideas for branding and advertisements (fantasising bout setting up of tee shop),
blah blah blah.
once i get out of bed to start jotting down the points on any scrape paper i find, the ideas just keep coming in. i should be glad i'm blessed with that much creative juices but frankly it's freaky. the mind just gets so excited that i might end up lying on the bed but still wide awake till 2 to 3 am. i embrace good long undisturbed sleeps, and can used to sleep up to 12 hours per day, mind you. hahaha. hence it's been quite a problem there.

nowadays it's worse.
not only is it just ideas, have been thinking of other stuff like some stressed out freak. my mind was filled with my deadlines for my designs so i'll at least accomplish some things before ORD.
i still have designs in the back of my head that wasnt realised into reality yet,
i havent mastered art of dreamweaving, hence the failed attempt to make new blogskin. actually i've even applied for the Army e-prep thingy but didnt bother to continue. cant stand learning from some cold voice-over in the computer. i need a physical teacher for start.

did not understand why i did that (setting deadlines) for, as i started out on the designs as some form of leisure and fun. when had it became so nightmarish?
sometimes it might be other problems, which i think i might ponder too much.

fatique is sinking in deep. but i still cant get enough of sleep.
i shuddered at the thought of trying to sleep.

the lack of sleep is affecting my mood and way of life. it was actually very fruitful this week. having completed 3 designs in just one week. the most efficient week ever! but am not content or even happy. moody moody moody.

~sigh.

Kiss

have been making full use of my 5-day wisdom teeth extraction MC to come up with yet another design. yea! long time since i posted new designs here. very proud of it! though i've came up with the concept like near 1 month plus ago. haha.
though was thinking should i post it on threadless and get people to go and vote for it. top few scorers get their designs printed and they receive one for free! (er.. yar. just one. haha.) if not i'll definitely go and print if the response is good and also when i've come up with more designs..

yes. it's the white red black combination again. getting boring. will be more daring the next time.

dreamweaving...still (blogskin)

i promised of a new blogskin. many weeks ago.
tell you the truth. skin is not ready. i still have not mastered the trick of dreamweaving. borrowed a book from library on dreamweaver 7.0 and just flipped through. that's all. i could not catch anything much. unless there's someone physically there, right in front of the computer, teaching me. that's how i leaned to be a photoshopper before i took my intiative to learn other cheemer stuff. yes i know. i'm reliant on spoon-feeding. not very typical of the self-directed learner which my JC promised of every student :P.

anyway, below is the skin which i had planned to put up. something which i've designed quite some long time ago. if you are interested to have it as your own skin, feel free to email me. i'll send it through msn (without all the HTML and CSS codes)..

introducing Threadless

i know this must be very magnanimous, generous, non-selfish of me to introduce a fabulous t-shirt website: Threadless

felt so lost and discouraged after venturing deeper into this site lar. just made my blog pale in comparison with the site. idiotic. the designs are so diversed and many are really good designs. they (threadless site) "pay" people to do the tee designs. it works like some ongoing competition where anyone can just submit their designs for the different competitions. then general public (threadless members) will vote for the winner. winner gets a free tee of their design (i think) and some other fabulous prizes.

it's like i felt like taking part in these competitions but how can i bring my esteem one lower to compete with the other designers? hahaha. joking there. but seriously, i do not know what will happen if your designs are not selected for printing. they will select the top few highly voted designs to be printed. and limited editions (as in limited printing). anyway i'll publicise it here if i ever gonna join this competition. (by then, who would still be visiting my blog?) vote for me then!

some regular did some video commercial for their site. didnt realise the Tshirt 360 i borrowed from jw actually have quite a few of threadless collections.

i need to come up with (quote) A videotape or disk containing a 3-minute (longer entries will be disqualified) personal explanation or performance demonstrating your creative, narrative and visual imagination abilities, (unquote) if i'm to apply for NTU School of Art, Design and Media (ADM).

sian. only have a few ideas. i could actually come up with video commercial for myteeblog eh? hahaha. idea leh. BUT I CANT FLASH( erm as in i'm not proficient in Macromedia Flash) OR ANY OTHER VIDEO MAKERS! double sianz. yK had actually suggested me inviting friends to "walk" for my line. just like project-runway style. with some cheesy intro about designing tshirts. wa-ow lar. hahaha.

ideas.. ideas..

Pop

jw is so into pop art nowadays. depending on how you define "pop art". anyway, intro me to this website. the design is really JUICE (the free street magazine you can get in most orchard shops) type, if not even (much much) better. very vibrant attractive, attention-grabber type.

one more thing: he takes his artworks on his parquet floor too! good artists show their works on the floor kae~ hahaha.

My Story, Your Song

finally it's out. My Story Your Song. the album before she officially moves over to the new company. move over warnermusic. hahaha. just bought the cheaper version (19 bucks). couldnt afford the 50 odd buck one. mine is the 精选中精选 okay. you dont have to pick out her best songs unlike the more expensive one(this blue cover). it's all compiled in 2 good cds. hahaha. but the more expensive has the very limited 6-framed (or is it 4-framed) snippet of her 我不难过 mtv lar! Go and listen to 雨天 if you havent!

to celebrate the release of her new album, JW (actually got influenced by my current tee painting hobby) came up with a tshirt design. it's inspired by one of her i-weekly cover. had this(in another colour scheme) as my display picture on msn before..

look at how it turn out. ok i know i looked dumb. but at least half my face is cropped. wahahaha..

me and JW actually promised each other to wear it to her next 签唱会. and to start off some fashion statement. or maybe our very own fan club. he'll be the president and i'll be the vice president. wahahahaha. not bad kae~

display of the fan club registration hamper. hahaha. no lar. just a display of her cds (all autographed kae~... okay, almost all.) and posters to compliment the tee. or is it the other way round? hmm. hahaha..

must compliment JW also. he actually had such nimble fingers and patience to cut out the really small prints. for the sake of yanzi~

we are so gonna wear this tee. like some uniform of fan clubs. hahaha. it's open to order okay. any interested party simply email us to register for our fan club, to be entitled this stunning self-painted tee. at least we provide some perks for our fan club. hahaha.

Washing Dirty Laundry

yep. there was some pun intended for the title there.
helped my understudy to paint his tshirt and he was asking how should he wash it.
i've consulted mom dearest and tried looking up on the net, so here it is, all compiled:

Dirty Laundry Washing Tips for freshly painted tees

Before wash--
~ Iron the tshirt before wash, to fix the paint. place a cloth over the painted graphic before ironing the graphics. this is just in case the heat 'melts' the paint(but dont think the paint will literally melt ba), and protect the graphic against direct heat. can also go google on care for printing tees. some advices includes hotgun which i feel it's uneconomical unless you paint on tees alot.

~ When it has cooled, place tee in bucket/pail. pour vinegar over the graphic. according to some radio programme (which my mom heard), it will fix the colour and prevent colour from running. add water and soak the tee overnight.

During wash--
~ Like any advice the Giordano sales person would give, flip the tee inside out during actual wash and tumble dry. this is to reduce abrasion of the printing against other laundry.

~ If you like, softerner can be added to soften the paint.

so that's my 2 cents worth of knowledge. hopefully it'll be helpful during your next laundry wash!

btw my understudy came up with a better abbreviation for my line - DtyLndy or D.Lndy. at least it wont look like it's spelled dirty lady anymore. :)

haha. this is funny:

can visit actual webbie
i think the designer is a sporean working for jap company or something. but this is just so hilarious.
