Washing Dirty Laundry

yep. there was some pun intended for the title there.
helped my understudy to paint his tshirt and he was asking how should he wash it.
i've consulted mom dearest and tried looking up on the net, so here it is, all compiled:

Dirty Laundry Washing Tips for freshly painted tees

Before wash--
~ Iron the tshirt before wash, to fix the paint. place a cloth over the painted graphic before ironing the graphics. this is just in case the heat 'melts' the paint(but dont think the paint will literally melt ba), and protect the graphic against direct heat. can also go google on care for printing tees. some advices includes hotgun which i feel it's uneconomical unless you paint on tees alot.

~ When it has cooled, place tee in bucket/pail. pour vinegar over the graphic. according to some radio programme (which my mom heard), it will fix the colour and prevent colour from running. add water and soak the tee overnight.

During wash--
~ Like any advice the Giordano sales person would give, flip the tee inside out during actual wash and tumble dry. this is to reduce abrasion of the printing against other laundry.

~ If you like, softerner can be added to soften the paint.

so that's my 2 cents worth of knowledge. hopefully it'll be helpful during your next laundry wash!

btw my understudy came up with a better abbreviation for my line - DtyLndy or D.Lndy. at least it wont look like it's spelled dirty lady anymore. :)
