Poster

Self promoting narcistic whore on loose!

Wore my tee out for a gathering with some friends. had fun pictures taken in front of the christmas tree at raffles city. did a lacoste and it turned out so greeeaaat.

thereafter, decided to try out my own printed advertisement. main inspiration from those street-inspired poster print advertisements you see along the underground links at train stations and those bus stop lined along orchard road.

bit raw with the backgrounds and the selection of my photo wasn't the best, but still it's my first try at such adverts. and i L-O-V-E it (especially the tshirt corner)! take a look :).

"jump to the rotting rose joy"

a flimpsy attempt with my emo-poetic title.

Competition winner

remember the threadless "hero/heroine" competition i mentioned in earlier entry that i could not get in? the winner is out. take a look:

Video

i still not not have much idea for my course entry video project. but anyway had been fantasising so here's one of those fantasies.

taking from yk's suggestions, it will be an advertisement for my line of tees. lol.

1. theme: Dirty Laundry (Dty Lndy) - the tee is an overstatement.

2. filming should be done in reality tv style as much as possible. preferably project runway meets america's next top model meets victoria's secret fashion show. lotsa bam-bam-bam!

3. 3 min video will include a mini impromtu runway around the swimming pool at my condo on a sunny day (so i guess filming wont be so soon due to monsoon season). kenny suggested all to be really chaotic, with flashing photograph montage of the preparations before the major walk.

4. models (invited friends and volunteers!) will have to strut their stuff around the pool, no doubt in my printed tees and nothing else (alright, maybe with trunks and bikini underneath the tees). we are open for applicaions now. interested parties please call my secretary for arrangements and auditions. wahahaha.

5. residents, dog-walkers and passers-by are all welcome to join in the walk. it should be a hyper uber fun event. provided security dont interfere.

6. finale walk with models and might end off with some cheesy ending speech?

alright, ideas up till here. i dont know how exactly i should end. as yet.

Victoria's Secret 2006

the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2006 is already out! the annual most watched commercial runway show. with all the feathered wings, stillettos, cheeky lingerie, mardi gras-y mood, Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, funky minus sleaziness - my annual must-watch event since .. er.. last year. lol.

Justin Timberlake gracing this year's event. SEXY. Go view youtube!

FashionFlops

you know how almost every fashion or street magazine would set aside specifically one section to post up photos of people, who makes a point to dress, taken on the street. sometimes it's not the case where people who dress up and are like totally awesomely-attractive. some people just make heads turn for the wrong reasons. and you wonder did the fashion editor ever QC their magazines before releasing onto the shelves.

picked up dec edition of JUICE. it's free monthly distribution, so i guess criteria in Quality Control department arent very tight. (but still the magazine is like quite fabulous lar)
i dont understand if the agenda is to just showcase the weird dressing people wear nowadays or just failed to realise that they are publishing a fashion disaster section instead. take a look below:

Refer to those pointed in red arrows. Quoted: "WL* is wearing his Mum's cardigan, a Crocodile t-shirt, jeans from Woods & Woods, his Granny's loafers and a bag he bought from an antique shop", "D* got his cap from his Dad, specs from Salvation Army, blah blah blah" *names had been altered to protect fashion victim's identity.

Applaud for their courage for even showing in a widely distributed free magazine displaying their fashion sense. but seriously take my words for that, do not scavenge your parent's or grandparents fashion dump and just throw it on yourself.

~QC please.

signed, sealed, delivered

just received the delivery of my tee from threadless 2 days before.
let down i must say.

firstly, the size didnt fit me, at all. the measurements given on the website is the same as my Giordano S-size tee. So I bought their S-size. Didn't expect it to turn out that baby-small.

the printing isn't as good as expected. and i dont like the quality of their tee. i liked the design but it just didn't turn out well on the tee.

in the end i gave my mom.. lol..

new portfolio

yea. finally manage to put up a temporary online portfolio on flickr.

check out the flickr badge on the right. ---->
though many photos are not uploaded yet.. hee.

Couture

So into Couture nowadays.

if you watch ANTM, Project Runway, this term is bound to be brought up. simply, it just mean "high fashion" to me. these usually comes in forms of gowns which are almost always hand-made. "indie high fashion" in a sense. haha.

chanced upon this in my temporary work office. it's like in Jan 2004 but the content just feels very recent. maybe i'm lagging behind in fashion scene. showed my colleague and she was like that surprised that a government sector stores these magazines. in fact there are really good ones around when helping to organise the library.
