Jap-influence

Got the chance to flip some magazines during work. it's part of my work then as I'm supposed to be researching for retail outlets which NOISE Singapore (National Arts Council) could collaborate with for some upcoming tshirt design competition. Yes, I know how apt! lol. most probably I'm able to be join this competition and bribe my way through since i'm working there.. Muahahahaha..

Anyway, saw the artworks of this particular designer who collaborated with LeSportSac to produce this whole line of carriers and bags. i had initially thought the designer is actually a Japanese as most of his artworks are so influenced by the cutesy, kawaii JapManga such as Pokemon and HelloKitty(i do not count this as manga though). but he actually comes from the land of pizzas, tons of high-end brands and the leaning tower of Pisa - Italy. how unique! haha. during the interview in this FL.ag magazine (local free distribution i guess), he mentioned that he got this asian influence ( japanese in particular) from the area he stayed in in Italy. the gentleness, cuteness, elegance and exoticism of Asian culture inspires him, hence all these great artworks.

Speaking so long about this artist and i've actually missed out mentioning his name. He's Simone Legno. Go check him out. lol.
