jaded

nope. it's not inspired by ANTM cycle 6 model Jade. did this long before i got to watch ANTM6. but dont you guys think they looked kinda similar? hahaha. both going for the bohemian chic look.

nowadays entries all very ANTM-themed eh. alright, will be discussing something else in the subsequent entries, in case anyone who's bored by my choice of topics. ~ :)

get bitten by more fashion reality shows!

wa-ow!

ANTM is back with the 6th cycle every Mon, and Project Runway in it's 3rd season every Wed. this is so amazing. two best reality to date airing in a week. actually Amazing Race was my favourite back then but it kinda sizzled away with every season with its uneventful episodes. too bad.

models on ANTM arent up to my expectations (looks-wise) this time round. nobody beats Kaylen of cycle 5. Kaylen is just totally awesome. girl-next-door meets angel meets fairy meets whatever that's sweet and dreamy.

so, my fav for this season:
Mollie Sue, the mod, androgynous, red short-cropped hair (resembles yanzi perfect day look. another reason to like mollie sue.) and with the look that could melt icicles.

a photo shoot from the fairytale-themed episode. little boy blue. the most exciting photoshoot ever. models have to free fall, to get the photos taken.

*spoiler*
though i know mod mollie sue did not last very long in the cycle. sad.

Danielle
black with a gap at her 2 front teeth. looks stunning if she doesnt smile. i wonder how is she gonna be the CoverGirl if she lasted that long enough. she has to always hide those 2 front teeth.

no diva attitude(as yet. havent watch the later episodes), unlike most blacks from previous seasons. walks great (too bad she twisted her toe in one of the horrendously-planned catwalk challenge), takes greater photos.

Project Runway only started with an intro on selection this past week.
i cant wait to watch the next episodes!

branding. packaging. part 2

idiotic. cant edit and upload the laundry bag photos. so split into 2 parts. pathetic.

laundry bags

one of the numerous great japanese inventions can be most aptly used for the case of dirtylaundry line. laundry bags are used to separate different sets of laundry during washing, to avoid mix-ups. this is unique, and very feasible & reusable somemore. so environment friendly lor. creates some identity for my product as well! hahaha.

i wanted the packaging to be:
1. low in budget
2. an identity which is easy to achieve, and
3. the theme should be closely linked to dirty laundry.

branding. packaging. part 1

good, inspiring article in Weekend TODAY 16 Sep 06.

So Good You Could Almost Eat It

article talks about the unique packaging done by some of the local enterprises, brands. it's really attractive and eye catching for some of them. local tee company/brand pure milk package their tshirts in milk carton-like boxes when customers purchase their tees. suppergang, local online tshirt designing collective, had their tshirts are packed clear plastic boxes that resembles that of a sushi "take-away" pack, and even have a complimentary pair of chopsticks. the most facinating idea listed in the article: the asylum store, at ann siang road, had their limited edition sneakers displayed in a cake fridge! how creative and special! consumers will definitely get their stocks fresh. hahahaha.

creative bug is creeping onto me and i've been trying to brainstorm for ideas how to package my tees (if i'm really gonna sell them) for quite a while, and this is what i've came up for dirtylaundry.

ziploc bags
where would you dump your soiled, dirty clothes in after, say physical exercises or even a dirty-roll-in-mud type of camps? simply look for a ziploc bag and stuff those dirty laundry inside of course. not only it keeps your bag stain-free from the sweat and dirt, it helps lock the odour within the ziploc bag, hence prevents stinking up the whole public transport. how convenient. but one negative side: it looks and feels army field camp-ish. army guys (including myself) might not buy this idea too well.

Hide those ears

Move over, earphones!
photo from apple ipod advert. manipulated under myteeblog.

Seems like it's the trend to be spotted wearing ear-muffs and those surround sound headphones. hahaha. nah. it's just some trend in designing, and tees. even jay of Project Runway 1 had his whole finale collection of models to wear the brightly coloured ones. Chio sia. hahaha. (below) more from TShirt 360. :)

Shhh.. i wanna listen to those singings in my head... ~over and over again.

Barcode *Beep*

imagine you woke up to this world where everyone is tagged by barcodes and, your identity, data and maybe a short description of you will be indentified by scanning a series of barcode. this barcode will automatically update itself according to your daily behavior and the things you do.

Then, during a routine check or some job interview, you were scanned. right after the "beep", you discovered the following.

*gasp!*

introducing another design from the b*tch ideas. wear the tag, show the attitude. now people will be warned before they even think of ruffling your feathers. give them that cold stare, the buay song face, the heck-care attitude. whatever. no one will dare to mess with you, b*tch. muahahaha.

in fact my younger sis was so fascinated by it, she borrowed to wear for her tuition the next day. wahahaha. made a deal that she'll be my model if i lend her. hahaha. and here's the collection.

doesnt mean chest baring, skin tight tops and mini skirts definitely give the edge and attitude, oversized tees does it equally well! hahaha. typical JC student.

even my elder sis cant resist but joined in the fun! hahaha.

mean girls staring the stare, glaring the glare.
doing what they know best. :P

p/s: interested party to get their tee painted like that can email me, since i still have the stencil. can loan it out or even paint for you. you might want contribute your own blank tee. :)

T Shirt 360

jw lent me this great book. in fact i think it suits the bill of a coffee table book. thick, good graphics, few words. mainly for inspirations. 20 odd bucks. kinda worth it.

sampling some pages in the book.
i like this one. able to understand? love those designs which have simple graphics but speaks loud. i mean almost everyone can draw ladder, hearts, and maybe cubicles, but the whole thing tell a story, in a funny way too.

What you mean by Daniel V. did not Win?

this is like impossible. you mean Daniel Vosovic (left, he looked rugged here. that's him walking for nick on the design on fellow designers theme week) of Project Runway Season 2, the one-who-just-came-out-of-closet-designer did not win the finals? (yes, the whole world has caught it on net. i never download the shows. ok, i noe i'm slow.) it isnt really about the gay part which i support (though it is commendable for his courage) but it's just merely he's Daniel V! he had been so consistent throughout the show, winning like 3 challenges at least and i was so so disappointed when i saw his collection down the runway. boring with a capital 'b'. and the final dress was a disaster! his own model actually tripped over the gown! either 1) his gown is way too long, or 2) the model is just lousy. i choose to believe in the former.
you guys can catch the finale runway on youtube.
i still prefer the runway for season 1. anyway the other designers, esp chloe dao aka vietnamese-roots-short-designer-with-freaking-tall-model and santino aka mr robotic voice, are cool too(as in their designs lar). in fact i prefer the top 3 this time round than the first season. hahaha.

btw nick's model, tara (bottom), is just so stunning. Ohh~la~la~

cant wait for the next season to start. hahaha.
